When You Feel Like Giving Up On Your Business
We all have that voice in our head that never seems to sleep. It also seems to get louder and more persuasive when you feel like giving up on your business. Should you listen to that voice?
There is no simple universal answer to this question. The truth is, there may be times when that voice is right and you should walk away from a particular business idea. That does mean you should stop trying to be an entrepreneur though.
It’s always simple for people to feed you cliches like never give up and keep pushing, but when it comes to business, these statements don’t necessarily apply in the same way.
Giving up on a particular business idea can make sense in a lot of cases. There could be a change in the demand for your product/service. The production process may become too expensive compared to what people are willing to pay. When the risk clearly outweighs the reward, then giving up or moving on to a different business idea might be a wise option.
That’s giving up on a business idea though, not quitting on being a successful entrepreneur. That you should not walk away from so easily. Try and reconnect to your ‘Why’. Why did you start this journey. If your ‘Why’ is strong enough, then you will find a way to keep going.
This stage will sometimes require some external inspiration which of course will be different for everyone. This is a video that helps me find the motivation to keep pushing myself and not to play small.
Mainly it’s the mantra I Can, I Will, I Must that does it for me. There will be a mantra out there. A video, a song, a personality that will resonate with you and allow you to do the necessary soul searching in your times of doubt. Something that will reconnect you to why you started your journey to success in the first place. If your Why is strong enough, you will know what to do.
